2026 BigCare Application Form

Welcome to the application for the 2026 NCI-funded "Big Data Training for Cancer Research" workshop! The workshop will be held in-person on July 20 - August 1, 2026 at University of California Irvine (UCI), Irvine, CA.           

IMPORTANT NOTE 1: Before starting the application, please prepare the following two documents in advance.

I. NIH Biosketch. Include the following in the “Personal Statement” section:
a) Briefly summarize your research areas;
b) Explain why you want to develop skills in big data analysis for cancer research;
c) Briefly describe any planned or completed projects that require big data analysis skills; 
d) Provide a short statement describing how you would benefit from participating in the course.
 
For detailed biosketch instructions, refer to the NIH websites below (either format is acceptable):
- New format on or after January 25, 2026
- Old format before January 25, 2026

II. Letter of Support. If you are a post-doc/graduate student/research staff, you must provide a letter of support from your mentor(s). The letter should clearly state that they support your participation in the program and acknowledge the time commitment required to complete it successfully. It should also explain why this training is important for your current research project or your professional development.

IMPORTANT NOTE 2: The application includes a "Save & Continue Later" feature in the application. Make sure you answer all questions on each page before clicking "Save & Continue Later" button. You will be prompted to enter an email address to receive a link to your saved responses.

Only applicants who are physically available for the entire workshop period should apply. If you are available for the full workshop and have the two required documents ready, click the "Start" button to continue.
