UCI Arts Grad Petition Survey

**THIS PETITION SURVEY IS FOR UCI ARTS M.F.A. & Ph.D. STUDENTS ONLY**

For the Grad Program Coordinator to initiate your petition documents through DocuSign, please complete the survey below.

Reasons to submit a petition request:
  • When students deviate from the program curriculum and need to substitute a course for a requirement (most common)
  • Transferring courses from another program to count towards your current program*
  • Waving requirements*
  • Received a B- in a course and would like to have it count towards degree 

When petitioning classes, the substituted classes should be equivalent in units, an upper-division undergraduate or a graduate level course in which you received a letter grade or a Satisfactory (S) grade.

*Please have a copy of your transcript ready to upload.

After you complete the survey:
  • Expect an email from dse_NA3@docusign.net within 1-2 business days. This will be your official petition documents that will be routed for signatures.
  • When the document has been reviewed and signed by all parties, it will automatically be sent to Grad Division for review.
  • Approved petition documents will be sent to the Grad Program Coordinator and you will be notified of the status.
