Eligibility Criteria

Students are eligible for readmission if they meet the following criteria:

  • Be in good academic standing (having a cumulative and current UCI GPA of 2.0 or better)
  • Still be within your allotted 12 quarters if you started as a freshman or 9 quarters if you started as a transfer student
  • If you are coming in or left as an Undeclared major, you must still be on track to declare a major before the start of your seventh quarter
  • If you left while under Academic Recovery status, if approved you will return on the same status.
  • If you have a Public Health major declared, you must be making normal progress toward that degree and graduate on time

If your cumulative GPA is below a 2.0:
You may not be eligible for readmission and you may need to take courses at UCI through UCI Concurrent Enrollment or Summer Session, or at another UC institution to bring up your GPA to the required 2.0. Courses taken at a non-UC institution (i.e. community college) do not impact your UCI GPA. You must enroll in these courses for a letter grade.

If you were in another school at UCI and would like to readmit in as a Public Health Sciences or Public Health Policy major:
You need to meet Change of Major Requirements before being readmitted. This can be done through UCI Concurrent Enrollment, or UCI Summer Session, another UC-institution or at an accredited college or university. To find equivalent courses, visit www.assist.org.
